About the pattern, from designer Åse Öjbro

"I wanted to make a pattern that clarifies our history from the Vikings to Christianity in one picture. This pattern is inspired by the Viking Age and the World Tree Yggdrasil with the bird that warned of ragnar smoke. I wanted the Nordic myth when two people Liv and Livtrånad, who had survived Ragnarök, began the new life in the new Middle-earth.
It is fantastic that Sweden has cultural treasures of such dignity."
