marimekko signy sabloni trousers
The pleated Signy trousers in the Sabloni pattern are made of a nicely draping lyocell and linen blend, which has a lively, textured surface. The trousers have slanted side pockets, a faux welt pocket in the back, and they fasten with a zipper and hook and eye in the front. The wide waistband features belt loops and a separate belt. The trouser legs are long, straight, and wide.
The inspiration for the Sabloni (template) pattern derives from marimekko's age-old need to replicate shapes in nature through art. Antti Kekki used paper to create a sculpture-like composition, making use of different organic shapes. The pattern’s interesting negative space and lightness make it simultaneously timeless and modern.
