marimekko joonas cushion cover 50x50cm
The Joonas pattern cushion cover is made of cotton with a concealed zipper on one side. Our cushion covers are sewn using the whole width of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary slightly. Each item is unique.
This fabric was printed with a colour mixed from dyes left over from our own printing production. The colour of the products varies due to the different mixtures of leftover dyes used. The colour of the product may differ from the product image. 25% of the cotton used in this product is recycled cotton.
Marimekko are on a mission to increase the share of long-lasting and sustainable materials in our products and constantly test and develop new, lower-impact practices in our production process.
In 1961, Maija Isola spent many evenings and nights working in Marimekko’s print factory – painting in gentle, sweeping brushstrokes to the sway of music. Meter upon meter of new patterns emerged. On one of those nights, Joonas (Jonah), a pattern inspired by the sun dancing on the waves of the Mediterranean, saw the light of day.
